Deluxe Insert
- The yellow rings are not flush with the insert?
If you look on the back side you will see a small tab on the outside of the ring. That tab mates with a small notch
on the insert and allows the rings to snap into the insert.
- What are the four holes in the corners of the inserts for?
This is a "universal" mounting plate which means it is made for several vendors with different specs. If you
wanted to permanently mount the insert into the table you would use the four countersunk holes in the corners of
the plate. You would be interested in permanently mounting the insert if you had a router that allow you to make
above the table bit changes like the triton or Freud routers.
- Why are there holes in the yellow rings?
You can insert the starting pin into these holes.
- What the heck is a starting pin?
The starting pin is a small pin that fits into the holes on the insert and allows you to guide your work into a
spinning bit when you are not using a fence. The work is pivoted or rested on this pin and keeps the bit from
wanting to grab your work piece and fling it across the shop.
- How do I install this insert into my project?
Go to the directions tab and there is written and pictured directions for installation.
- Why isn't the insert pre-drilled for my router?
All routers have different bases. They all have different size screws as well. To be able to pre-drill every router
base into the insert would be pretty much impossible. You are far better off drilling yours yourself with our written
directions and pictures in the directions section.
- What are the four small steel set screws in the corners for?
Those set screws are used in our larger router tables. You have the option of installing some magnets into the
recess of your router table and the set screws will hold you insert in place when you want to do some precision
work.
- Will this fit my"__________" router?
Yes it will fit all routers
T-track
Is this t-track the same as everyone elses?
Our T-track is a little bit taller than most other vendors. If you buy our blank fence wings and try to put the track
in it, it will sit a little lower (1/4") than other brands.
When I opened the box and installed the bolt through the t-track, it would not go in.
Acclimate your top, MDF is sensitive to movement and will swell a bit if you change climates, like the table did
when it went through the shipping process. Let it sit in your shop for a good 12 hours and then try the bolt,
chances are that the mdf swelled a bit and compressed the t-track
Table Saw Extensions
Is there any other instructions on how to mount my extension?
We do have a pdf which has some additional information. You can get it on the product page. Installing just
about anything with woodworking usually involves some tweaking. Unfortunetly all contractor saws are slightly
different in their set ups and in their sizes. Some say 27" and are really 27 1/16", so being flexible is more or
less part of the hobby
Dust Collector
What is the input diameter?
4"
Fence Core
Will the large fence core fit on the RM 605 or RM 505 tables?
No they are designed to be used with the benchtop core
Tops
Why do you use 1 1/2" inches of MDF?
Strength, the thicker core allows less flexing!
Inserts
What insert is the strongest?
Our blank acrylic insert is the strongest insert. It has only one hole in it, and the smaller diameter keeps the
insert strong. The larger the hole, the less strength you have in an acrylic insert.
Will the Jasper inserts fit in your regular router tables?
No, our router table line is designed around the deluxe router table insert. Use the Jasper if you want to
design your own top. We will begin offering some special tables custom with the Jasper insert and they will be
marked to let you know which ones fit.
Threaded insert
What kind of a driver do I need to install the threaded insert?
Hex head 6mm
Why do you recommend put a drop of glue in the hole before installing the threaded insert.
It's just a strength issue. If you are using a porous material ,a drop of glue grabs the material and makes a
better bond.
Mitre Track
Will this track hold standard router table accessories?
Yes it is industry standard.
Do you carry the miter gauge to go with it?
Not yet, but we are working on a supplier.
Routers
Whats the best brand router to buy for a router table?
Ask ten different people and you would get ten different answers. Read our article section for a more
thorough break down of router features.
Super Bench top router Table
I notice your table uses all the same parts that you have available on your site. What is stopping
me from building my own table using your parts?
Nothing, go for it!
